Statement from BBUK on the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

By In Statements On 9 September 2022

B’nai B’rith UK would like to express its deepest sadness at the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. We pass our condolences to her family and offer strength and support to His Majesty King Charles III. For decades, the Queen was a rock and a mainstay of the British nation. She was driven by an unswerving sense of service and duty and won the respect of her nation, and countless millions around the world. She provided continuity and stability amid domestic and international troubles and gave wise counsel to her Prime Ministers. She also provided support for the UK’s Jewish community throughout her reign. Her passing leaves a deep void in our national life but we are truly thankful for the wonderful qualities that her reign exemplified. We may remember with gratitude a special monarch whose dignity and decency gained for her the affection and the hearts of so many.
