Sir David Amess

B’nai B’rith UK would like to express its shock and revulsion at the murder today of Sir David Amess, MP for Southend West. Sir David was a hard working and dedicated parliamentarian who was attacked while trying to serve his constituents and his murder is an outrageous assault on British democracy. He was also a strong friend of the Jewish community and was one of the first people to deliver the annual B’nai B’rith Raoul Wallenberg Annual Lecture. His death is a grievous loss to his constituents as well as to Parliament, and B’nai B’rith would like to offer its deepest condolences to his family.
