B’nai B’rith UK organises formal letter of complaint to Polish Ambassador

A report by Jeremy Havardi Director LBIA

B’nai B’rith was recently made aware of an attempt by a Polish embassy employee to rehabilitate the reputation of Polish politician Wladyslaw Studnicki. According to the employee’s Twitter account, Studnicki had been described as “one of the greatest Polish thinkers of the 20th century” and a figure who “has not been accorded respect”. Studnicki held deeply antisemitic views, describing Jews as ‘parasites on the healthy branch of the Polish tree’ and advocating their elimination from Polish society. B’nai B’rith UK organised a formal letter of complaint to the Polish Ambassador, H.E. Arkady Rzegocki, signed by all major Anglo-Jewish organisations. B’nai B’rith UK received a detailed and lengthy reply from the Ambassador, accepting some of the points raised while disputing others. B’nai B’rith will continue to champion the cause of Jews around the world and fight the perennial scourge of antisemitism and hatred.
