B’nai B’rith UK is deeply disappointed at 18/11/20’s decision to re-admit Jeremy Corbyn into the Labour Party. Mr Corbyn has refused to apologise for initially stating that antisemitism in Labour was exaggerated, offering instead a meaningless clarification of his remarks. To reinstate him under those circumstances is both unjustified and risible. The swiftness with which Corbyn’s case was handled suggests that, once again, the party’s disciplinary process remains deeply politicised. Labour has clearly not learned from the findings of the EHRC report, only further insulting and wounding the UK Jewish community.
