BBUK condemns Ben and Jerry’s decision to stop selling in ‘the Occupied Palestinian Territory’

B’nai B’rith UK condemns in the strongest terms the recent decision of Ben and Jerry’s to stop selling their ice cream products in ‘the Occupied Palestinian Territory’. The move will do nothing to advance peace and mutual recognition in the region and will instead be a boon to a BDS movement which seems to end the state of Israel completely. Moreover, it is Palestinians who will bear the financial brunt of such an egregious boycott. This action also sits uneasily with the growing normalisation that has taken place between Israel and its Arab partners in the region. Ben and Jerry’s ideological agenda is completely out of touch with the realities of the Middle East and should be urgently reconsidered.
